Directions for Use:

In a Washing Machine:

IMPORTANT: Shake well before use. Do not use conventional detergents. Always clean first in a separate cycle using Nikwax® Tech Wash®. Do not dry before waterproofing.

1. Remove any detergent residue from the detergent drawer.
2. Place a maximum of 2 clean garments in the washing machine.
3. Add 100 ml of TX.Direct® per garment.
4. Run a 30°C synthetic cycle with a slow spin.
5. To maintain waterproofing, always wash garments with Nikwax Tech Wash®. Do not use regular detergents!

By Hand:

IMPORTANT: Wear protective gloves.

1. Immerse one clean garment in 7.5 liters of hot water (in a bowl or sink).
2. Add 100 ml of TX.Direct®.
3. Stir to mix, leave to soak for 5 minutes, then stir thoroughly again.
4. Rinse in cold water until the water runs clear.

Drying:

Air dry or tumble dry on a low setting if allowed by the garment’s care label. To maintain waterproofing, always wash with Nikwax Tech Wash®. Avoid regular detergents!

Use Nikwax TX.Direct® when your waterproof clothing starts soaking up water…

Your gear may be absorbing water simply because it’s dirty. First, clean it with Nikwax Tech Wash®. If the item is new or has been recently re-proofed, cleaning alone may restore the DWR (Durable Water Repellency). However, if it has been heavily used, you will need to reapply DWR using Nikwax TX.Direct® after cleaning.

Cleaning is just as important as waterproofing…

Using the right cleaner is just as critical as using the right waterproofer. Regular detergents leave behind a water-attracting film that suppresses the DWR. Always clean your waterproof garments with Nikwax Tech Wash®. Remember that dirt itself reduces DWR effectiveness — regular cleaning improves performance.
